The volunteers serving on EANM Committees are scientific pillars of the association. Among other things, they offer invaluable insights in the publication of procedural guidelines and other scientific papers, they contribute to the educational programme of ESMIT, and they network with other societies in their respective speciality.

EANM Dosimetry Committee
Mission
The mission of the EANM Dosimetry Committee involves:
- Promoting and enhancing the use of dosimetry practices in the field of nuclear medicine.
- Advocating for a future where radiation treatments using radiopharmaceuticals are tailored to optimise the absorbed doses delivered to target volumes, while considering doses to non-target volumes and tissues.
- Producing EANM guidelines and valuable resources meant to support the nuclear medicine community.
- Providing professionals with training and teaching initiatives to educate about the importance and application of dosimetry.
- Collaborating with partner societies to foster a collective effort to advance the practice of dosimetry in nuclear medicine.

The EANM Inflammation & Infection Committee is in charge of:
- Developing and disseminating guidelines, recommendations and position papers on nuclear medicine techniques for infection and inflammation.
- Providing an evidence-based framework for the rational use of imaging in infection and inflammation.
- Developing and strengthening collaborations with other scientific and clinical societies.
- Supporting the healthcare community in delivering optimal patient care.
- Providing education and training programmes/courses for physicians with interest in infection and inflammation imaging.
- Catalysing developments in molecular imaging and advanced imaging techniques applicable to inflammation and infection imaging (e.g., new clinical indications, novel and more specific radiopharmaceuticals for infection).

EANM Physics Committee
Mission
The Physics Committee’s mission entails:
- Leading the provision of formal Medical Physics advice (including instrumentation, computer and data science aspects) to the EANM Board and coordinating the engagement of Medical Physicists (as well as other professionals such as computer scientists) across the EANM Committees.
- Identifying areas within nuclear medicine practice in Europe that would benefit from the expertise of Medical Physicists by way of guidelines, standards, educational initiatives, training programs and project groups.
- Collaborating with international organisations and societies (i.e., IAEA, EFOMP, AAPM, SNMMI…) and the other EANM Committees, Project Groups and Councils to ensure an effective coordination of activities related to Physics, Instrumentation and Data Science topics.

Mission
The Radiation Protection Committee’s mission encompasses:
- Promoting radiation protection for the well-being of patients, staff, and the environment.
- Collaborating with other EANM committees and partners to develop guidance and resources for optimised radiation protection in nuclear medicine procedures (e.g., radiation protection measures in theranostic procedures).
- Engaging with EU agencies, legislative bodies and international organisations responsible for radiation protection (e.g., EURADOS, EURAMED, IAEA, ICRP, IRPA, MELODI, etc.).
- Organising scientific and educational activities.

Mission
The mission of the EANM Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Committee is to increase knowledge, provide guidance and promote and support the EANM community in radiopharmaceutical research, development, application and manufacture.
The EANM Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Committee is in charge of:
- Developing guidelines and recommendations in the areas of radiopharmaceutical application and manufacturing.
- Supporting the practice of Clinical Radiopharmacy.
- Contributing to scientific and educational applications of Radiopharmacy and Radiopharmaceutical Sciences.
- Supporting interest groups in the areas of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences.
- Facilitating academic-healthcare-industry collaborations in the areas of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences.
- Providing education, training and certification in Radiopharmaceutical development, Chemistry and Radiopharmacy via ESMIT.
- Establishing cooperations with other scientific societies.
- Supporting the EANM’s interaction with the European and international official regulatory bodies (EMA, EQDM, CPMP, PIC/S, ICH) to ensure proper evaluation and feedback on regulation and legislation with regard to radiopharmaceutical development, preparation and use.
- Promoting forums for the discussion of selected topics of interest through liaison with other EANM Councils, Project Groups and Committees.
- Promoting the use of radionuclide imaging in drug development research.

Mission
The Thyroid Committee is in charge of:
- Developing and disseminating guidelines and recommendations regarding: thyroid and parathyroid imaging; management and treatment of patients with benign and malignant thyroid conditions, with a focus also on specific clinical settings or specific comorbidities.
- Fostering scientific exchange and collaborative work with other EANM Committees and scientific societies, including scientific and educational sessions.
- Promoting ESMIT activities and online or face-to-face educational programmes on thyroid or parathyroid diseases (i.e., webinar, advanced courses).
- Providing information about the activities of the Thyroid Committee to physicians, scientists and patients.

EANM Translational Molecular Imaging & Therapy
Mission
Nuclear medicine’s non-invasive imaging capabilities play a crucial role in providing (molecularly) tailored treatment plans for patients. Beyond diagnosis, molecular imaging enables image-guided therapy delivery. Key initiatives such as theranostics and intraoperative molecular imaging provide the foundation for establishing precision medicine in Europe.
The success of nuclear medicine in Europe relies on three pillars: clinical implementation of available nuclear medicine technologies, development of innovative technologies (both chemistry- and engineering-based), and the effective translation of innovations into clinical application. The latter serves as the specific focus of the EANM Translational Molecular Imaging & Therapy (TMI&T) Committee.
The TMI&T Committee brings together experts with different backgrounds, spanning from (radio)chemistry/pharmacy, engineering, to (radio)biology and medicine. Their combined expertise creates a multidisciplinary foundation that helps connect innovations that are developed in the laboratory setting to real-time clinical needs.
The TMI&T Committee’s activities include:
- Providing an entrance point for alternative molecular imaging strategies into the EANM.
- Promoting translational efforts during the EANM’s Annual Congress (i.e., the Molecule to Man track).
- Facilitating the training of future research and healthcare professionals in a variety of expertise’s related to translational science.
- Fostering collaboration between the clinical and technical EANM Committees.
- Advancing the effective delivery of therapy through nuclear medicine.
- Supporting the topic to specific EANM working groups focusing on radiobiology and optical imaging/intraoperative molecular imaging.
